This cushion was inspired by the wonderful variegated yarns available and trying to think of a different way to use them.
The colourwork on this pattern is worked from charts, after initial instructions are given for setting up colours, the instructions for the back are written.
Materials required for cushion: size 3 mm knitting needles, 100g DK weight yarn in main colour, 75g contrast colour, 3 x 2.5 cm buttons for cushion back, 40 cm square cushion pad. NOTE: The cushion works best if strongly contrasting colours are used.
Finished size: approximately 16-inches/40 cm square
Gauge: 2.5 cm/1-inch = 5 rows and 6 sts over colour pattern
